Physical Education Vision
All students are encouraged to achieve their personal best within PE which has four elements for success and progress. All students should endeavour to be resilient and focused on achieving their potential within their own Personal Best.
MY PERSONAL BEST
PHYSICAL ME :
Students will be engaged in learning how to understand and apply the relevant skills in a range of range of activities including major team invasion games, individual and team net games, trampolining, athletics, health and fitness conditioning which includes programme planning in the fitness suite, step aerobics, yoga and team fitness challenges as well as option choices in tri golf minor spirts like tchuk ball and ultimate Frisbee. Students will learn to combine movement patterns in a variety of sports and to understand the need for agility, speed, coordination and balance in the sports they play..
Within all activities students will learn to understand where they move, how they move and why they move. They will learn to understand tactics and composition and can transfer them to a range of sports.
An Alde Valley PE student looks to develop the social skills of tolerance, respect, integrity and cooperation.
Students are encouraged to consider the feelings of others, cooperate with my team mates and to lead other pupils in sports where they feel most confident .

Students are encouraged and taught to understand the value of exercise on lifelong health. To have a desire to keep going and feel motivated. They are challenged to be resilient in sports and competition sometimes out of their own comfort zone. Importantly in all lessons we hope that student develop their self esteem and feel happy and confident in physical activity, whether they win or lose.

What is V-Cert Physical Education?
This qualification is designed for learners who want an introduction to Health and Fitness that includes a vocational and project-based element. The qualification will appeal to learners who wish to pursue a career in the Health and Fitness sector or progress onto further study.
It is assessed with one exam on physiology and the principles of training. A synoptic coursework assessment is completed which is the application of understanding to the fitness industry.
The study of health and fitness involves understanding the functions of the body systems, understanding the principles of training, and knowing how the body reacts in the short and long term to fitness activities, how to create and apply lifestyle analysis tools and how to create a fitness programme for a person with specific goals.
The qualification focuses on an applied study of the health and fitness sector and learners will gain a broad understanding and knowledge of working in the sector.
